This may seem like a rhetorical question, but we live in a world blanketed by a false sense of security. We choose to go through life imagining that something like yesterdays movie theater shooting will not happen to us, even if in the back of our minds we know it is a possibility. And worse yet, we believe that if something terrible does happen Law Enforcement & First Responders will be there to save the day. Let us be honest, this is Bullshit. We are the only ones responsible for our self preservation and that of our family. That is a big responsibility, and not one that can entirely be put onto the shoulders of Law Enforcement & First Responders. It takes a change of mindset and hard work to be prepared enough to be confident to act in an emergency. When we say "Stay Spikey" we are talking about staying vigilant, being prepared mentally, physically, and tactically to respond to whatever this world can & will throw at you. Train your mind & push your body. Train with your firearm. Know how to use the items in your medical kit. Carry everyday.
So what are the basics that you should be carrying with you at all times?
- Firearm (something that is comfortable enough to carry everyday)
- Pocket Trauma Kit (We Recommend our Trauma BaseKIT)
- High Power LED Light (Recommend OLight's)
- Knife (Preferably has a glass breaker and seat belt ripper)

The weekend is here again, and like most of you I will want to take my family out to explore the great outdoors. Unfortunately a lot of times the things that we bring to fuel our bodies through these adventures are not very healthy at all. That is because most convenient foods are highly processed, contain minimal nutritional value, and contain all sorts of things you can't pronounce.
